Kelpie Chips

Snacks from the Sea founder Jennifer Murphy grew up in Korea, where kelp is eaten regularly, whether as a healer (sort of like chicken soup in the U.S.) or for special holidays when kelp would be dried, cleaned, fried, and dusted with sugar. One day, Murphy found herself feeling fatigued — the impacts of work and motherhood —so her mom sent a traditional remedy of dried kelp to make into soup for nourishment. Murphy never got around to making it, so her mom tried again, this time turning the nutritious sea plant into a convenient chip that could be easily consumed to impart healing. This event ignited the idea of bringing the nourishment of kelp, packaged in a convenient, snack-worthy form, to people in the United States. Murphy began a long R&D process to make the best, minimally processed kelp chips that people can enjoy any time and still get the incredible health benefits of this nutrient powerhouse. The result? Snacks from the Sea, a line of vibrant, nutrient-dense kelp chips available in three delicious, vegan flavors: Zesty Pizza, Chipotle, and Salt & Pepper.
