House Party

Cheese sauce is an American comfort food classic. The velveety food is found everywhere; grocery stores, sports arenas, hospitals, restaurants and schools and has been a staple in American cuisine for nearly a century. Although once hailed as a "health food" at its advent, we now know that these products provide very poor nutrition value. This country's most vulnerable are often fed this artificial food— like the eldery, the hospitalized, and children in public school. Sometimes it's a large part of their only meal that day. I sought out to solve this very problem and create a new American comfort food classic! I grew up in Arkansas eating a typical heavy meat & dairy Southern diet. After giving up dairy and adopting a plant-based diet herself, she left her former career behind to start House Party and make a delicious cheesy sauce to rival the beloved queso she grew up on; and make it better for animals, humans and the planet. House Party makes delicious cheesy dips from real vegetables— with a more nutritious label, allergy-free ingredient list and substantially smaller environmental footprint in comparison to cheese dips made from animals. We launched on shelves in January, 2023 in Whole Foods Market stores in Northern California. After a successful debut, WFM quickly expanded us into three additional regions this past Fall. House Party is the first brand of plant-based cheesy sauces available in grocery stores that is shelf-stable, top 9 allergen free, and made from vegetables! The Whole Foods Market launch comes after the company was selected as a finalist in the grocery chain's first accelerator program, the Leap Program. Bringing vegetables to the chip aisle, the flagship product from House Party rivals dairy cheese sauce from cows for nutrition, environmental impact and taste. The sauces boast a nutrition panel free from artificial flavorings, artificial colorings, and other additives and preservatives commonly found in dairy-based cheese sauce.
