Cedarlane Natural Foods was founded in 1981 by Robert Atallah, and the Carson, California-based company built its identity on bridging the gap between nutritional, preservative-free eating and modern convenience. Long before plant-based and other healthy diets became mainstream trends, Cedarlane was defining its space by offering natural, vegetarian, and other ready-made meals. Over the years, the company continued on this journey by offering frozen and refrigerated food offerings in both branded and private brand solutions across Club/Mass, Retail, and food service. Fast forward to the new Cedarlane acquired in March 2025 by Sequel Holdings, L.P. a Dallas Based Private Equity Firm founded in 2002, with an active roster of Food & Beverage companies. Under Sequel’s guidance, the company has invested in capacity, plant improvements and a new leadership team with over 100 years of combined industry experience in the food/beverage sector. As for the product portfolio, the core qualities the company was founded on are even more relevant to the consumer today. Quality, convenience, clean ingredients and with recipes that include gluten free, higher protein and other important features. To this day, Cedarlane remains focused on its mission of offering healthy, clean label refrigerated and frozen prepared foods through some of largest retailers in the Club and Grocery/Food industry. 2026 brings exciting new innovation to the Cedarlane Natural Foods lineup. Led by its investment in High-Pressure Processing (HPP) technology, quick cooling capacity, and a soup and sauce kitchen modernization, Cedarlane is leveraging its portfolio with a lineup of ready to heat deli convenience meals across a range of international cuisines. This includes proven winners, Chicken Breast Burrito Bowl, Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, Vegetable Soup, Stacked Eggplant, Sushi Bake, Turkey Lasagna, as well as other flavors of great tasting entrees, Thai Coconut Chicken, Chicken Adobe, and Italian offerings such as Lasagna Bowl, Chicken Pizza Bowl, Sausage Rotini, just to name a few. These meals offer Deli departments premium quality, never frozen, restaurant level experience while providing the extra shelf-life benefit HPP delivers. All of this while maintaining clean ingredient panels.
