On April 3, 2023 Mallory Stevens was sitting in her laundry room, wishing she could eat ice cream for breakfast, when the idea for Tuff Pops struck her like lightning. The vision was simple: Create a high-protein ice cream bar with ingredients that looked like old-fashioned ice cream and a protein content comparable to yogurt. After a few failed attempts at home, Mallory and her husband Kory recruited the help of some very talented ice cream makers who have since turned into very dear friends. It took years to perfect the recipe, but the final product was something that rivaled the best ice creams on shelf, high-protein or otherwise. For too long, the protein space has been dominated by masculine packaging and gym-centric messaging. Tuff Pops wanted to change all of that. They leaned into branding that feels joyful instead of self-important. Flavors that feel inspired instead of rote. Marketing that feels inclusive. At Tuff Pops, we believe in the importance of being taste-first and protein-second. Tuff Pops celebrate the magic of real ingredients. That’s why each pop is made with a simple foundation: milk, cream, egg yolks, cane sugar, and vanilla extract. No soy. No seed oils. No gums. No artificial or synthetic sweeteners. Led by a small but mighty team, Tuff Pops has seen an incredible early response since officially launching in stores in 2026.
