Folkland Foods

Waterford, PA

Folkland Foods is a natural products brand from Waterford, PA with 4 products on Beacon Discovery, mostly frozen fruits & vegetables. Its range is distributed by Not in Distribution.

Folkland Foods was born out of a 4th generation family farm and business, all involving potatoes. Zack and Colt's grandfather and his brother built a small regional potato chip brand at their home farm, and grew potatoes to make the chips. That business was sold in 2008 before Zack and Colt could get involved, but the two dreamed of starting their own vertically integrated brand and live up to their grandfather's legacy. While those dreams grew, the two had been looking for the better part of 10 years for a way to transition the entire farm to organic, regenerative practices. One of the biggest opportunities they saw in that decade was frozen potatoes. So the two settled on organic french fries as the first product when they formally started the brand in January 2024. The two enlisted a little help on the manufacturing side through a third founder: Brian. His manufacturing and operational expertise originated in working with their grandfather at the original company. They wasted no time in putting together the plan for a production facility while designing the brand, and fine tuning the products. At the time, the guys will admit, they knew nothing about french fries, but they had a simple goal: make the best tasting, cleanest ingredient fries with an authentically and mission-driven business. They wanted to parallel how their grandfather treated his business partners, how they were raised to treat others, how they like to eat (clean ingredients), and how they wanted to see food production from farm to facility be carried out to ensure quality, transparency, and trust with consumers. The result? Three simple products, wildly different than the standard frozen fry. Each with an ingredient list including only items you can already find in your own kitchen, all cooked in olive oil, and tossed with real herbs and spices to bring both flavor and quality they feel good eating.
