Midori Ogino founded BROWN SUGAR 1ST in November 2011, shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake. At that time, there was widespread concern about health and food safety. Midori strongly believed that 'we are what we eat' and began to ask herself daily, 'What should I feed my child?' Believing that many others shared the same concerns, she started a homemade sweets shop at the Farmers' Market in Tokyo, Japan. It all began with her carrying her 6-month-old daughter on her back, selling the treats she made in collaboration with her mother, a confectionery teacher. Since then, BROWN SUGAR 1ST has expanded its product line, from coconut oil to applesauce and superfruit snacks, striving to provide cosumers a healthier and tasty option for a better future.
