Lil' Gourmets

lil'gourmets was born out of both my life experiences and medical research. My long struggle with infertility led me to eliminate all processed foods from my diet. When I became a mom and realized that the baby food aisle was filled with those same over-processed foods, I began to cook all of my son Jayden's meals. I cooked him flavorful meals full of vegetables and spices. As a toddler, Jayden loved veggies and diverse flavors, and shunned over-processed or bland foods. It was then I learned that we have an incredible window of opportunity in infancy and toddlerhood to shape our kids' palates. Medical research proves there is a high correlation between our first foods and our future eating habits. Unfortunately, fruit-first, sweet, over-processed foods dominate the baby food industry today and drive our kids to prefer sweet and salty foods (aka processed foods). This in turn, contributes to the myriad of health issues that our country faces. But, if we can introduce our babies to vegetables early on, we can change our perception of veggies from something we have to eat to something we LOVE to eat. And with the early introduction of flavorful foods we can inspire adventurous eating for life. As a mom, I understood the struggle to find any convenient options that I felt good feeding my kids, As a strategist, I saw whitespace and an incredible opportunity for disruption. As a seasoned professional in the food industry, I knew we could and should do better. So, I decided to launch lil'gourmets to provide fresh, nourishing meals that lil'ones love today and set them up with healthy and adventurous eating habits for life … all while giving parents a convenient option that they feel great about feeding their kids.
