We couldn't help but notice that a great idea - replacing traditional dairy options with plant based alternatives – was just not quite "there". Plant-based milks ran the gamut from gloopy and gummy to watery and sugary. Most annoyingly, the majority of oat milks were high in oils, calories, sugars, and low in nutrition. Those that tried to tackle nutrition tasted awful. In short, they were not offering better alternatives to dairy milk. Enter bettermoo(d) with Moodrink. When we set out to create the ultimate plant based milk, we had very clear objectives in mind: 1. The nutrition offered needed to better or equivalent to cow's milk without sacrificing taste or texture. 2. Clean ingredients. No gums. No artificial flavors. 3. It had to have a neutral, milk-like taste and consistency. And it had to be able to be used as milk would be used. In all situations- Drinking, Smoothies, Cereal, Cappuccinos and Lattes, Baking and Cooking and so on. 4. It had to be affordable and offer the potential to be consumed daily. What about those herbs? We were so fixated on getting everything just right that, yes, we even took into consideration what a cow eats since the types of herbs and grasses that cows eat subtly influence the flavours of dairy milk. The result? After 2 years in development, we are confident that we have a winner! A superior plant-based replacement for dairy milk.
