Reading the book "Born to Run" inspired me to create Pinole Chips. The book focuses on the impoverished people in the remote Copper Canyon region in Mexico known as the Tarahumara. The Tarahumara are known for their great endurance, they can run 50-100 miles per day. Because they cannot afford shoes, they use cut up tires strapped to their feet. Yet, they can out run the world's greatest ultra runners. Their primary source of food is Pinole. Made with masa harina corn (corn soaked in lime, the mineral) and mixed with chia seeds, it provides easy digestion, and built in energy. We call our Pinole Chips Snack Fuel, because they are made with all natural ingredients and can provide a great energy boost.
