Growing up in a large family consisting of eight children and my parents, some of my best childhood memories are from the countless hours I spent in the kitchen with my family, telling stories, prepping meals, washing dishes and baking. Later as an adult and when I was in an abusive relationship, I turned to baking cookies to mentally escape the chaos and heartbreak and reconnect with the joyful memories of my childhood from time spent in the kitchen. Baking cookies was so transformational for me, I knew I wanted to share with others. Founded in July 2018, Junita's Jar is my opportunity to combine both the joy-filled memories of my childhood from time spent in the kitchen with my family AND the painful experience of an abusive relationship to create positive change. We offer a delicious indulgence and of an all- time favorite treat...cookies, we spark conversations empowering women to take a chance on herself and we spread hope by collectively telling our stories.
