Leigh McFarlane, Founder & CEO ~ The Soap Lady Leigh is the creative force behind The Soap Company of Nova Scotia Ltd., which produces natural soaps, skin care & cleaning products that really work. Leigh believes every person has a right to feel great in their own skin. After a lifetime of chronic issues caused by synthetic ingredients, she was inspired to create simple, gluten-free scented & guaranteed unscented products. Sought out by folks suffering from scent & chemical sensitivities, these products make a meaningful difference for those who must avoid synthetics. Leigh has grown her business since with products folks rely on & trust. In November of 2021, Leigh's home and factory burned to the ground. With true Maritime resilience, Leigh flipped this devastation into an opportunity to completely rebrand our products with our current beautiful harmonized packaging. We moved to a 12,000 sq.ft building that provides room to expand our successful product line & add more team members. The Soap Company of Nova Scotia Ltd is located in Guysborough County which has the highest out migration of young workers and the oldest & poorest population in Nova Scotia. Providing meaningful employment will allow our community flourish and grow helping to reverse all three of these trends. The majority of team members would have moved away to work were it not for The Soap Company of Nova Scotia Ltd.
