Laurel's started with a question nobody was asking out loud: why do so many people love coffee with milk, and quietly stop drinking it anyway? Isabel grew up in California, in a house where the morning coffee was a non-negotiable. She went on to study biomedical science and then spent years at McKinsey working on patient-centered care — which is a formal way of saying she spent a long time studying what happens when a product is designed around a system instead of around a person. She kept seeing the same pattern in her own life. Friends who'd switched to oat. Family members who blamed themselves rather than the milk. A whole category of people rearranging their habits around a discomfort they'd decided was just theirs to carry. The answer turned out to be less exotic than it sounds. Most conventional dairy contains a protein called A1 beta-casein. A2 milk doesn't — it comes from cows that naturally produce only the A2 protein, the way milk was before selective breeding changed the herd. It's still real milk. It still foams, still tastes like dairy, still does what milk is supposed to do in a latte. It just tends to sit differently. So Laurel's built the whole line around it. Classic Latte for the purists. Dirty Chai for the people who want their spice and their espresso in the same hand. Matcha for the afternoon, when a third coffee is a bad idea. All in a can, all ready when you are, all made with ingredients we're happy to read out loud. We're not asking anyone to give something up. That's the entire point. Laurel's is for the person who wants their coffee exactly the way they like it — and wants to feel fine an hour later.
