Kreatures of Habit

Our founder, Michael Chernow, will be celebrating 22 years sober this summer. Because of this, Michael knows what it's like to be on both sides of the "habit coin." Early in sobriety, Michael's mentor helped him overhaul his morning to look a little something like: wake early, smile, prayer & gratitude, self-care, movement, and nourishment... a full 180 from where his mornings had been previously. After movement, Michael would come home and make a big bowl of oatmeal. Over the years, this ritual evolved and took 30+ minutes to prepare, loading his morning meal with optimized ingredients. This set the tone for Michael's day, and allowed him to start each morning with a win under his belt. One morning, while on a run (the "movement" part of his morning routine... yes, that he still does 22 years later), it hit him. If Michael could get all of the functional ingredients into an easy-to-prepare pouch, he could help others experience "winning the morning" just as he does. And thus, he set out to create Kreatures of Habit. Kreatures of Habit launched in 2021 with MEAL ONE (high-protein overnight oats) as our hero sku. Michael did it... after a year of development (refusing to compromise on ingredient quality, taste, texture, or convenience) Michael was able to package his morning ritual. MEAL ONE went on to be so much more than oatmeal. MEAL ONE is a ritual that promotes self-care, a commitment to personal development, and created a devoted community of health seekers, wellness enthusiasts, athletes, parents, working professionals, and entrepreneurs all adopting the "BETTER HABITS. BETTER LIFE." mentality. Over the years, KOH evolved to include the DAILY BAR (the first ever plant-based protein bar with 3g of creatine) and KREATURE'S SLEEP (the ultimate, melatonin-free, sleepy time hot chocolate). The goal with our family of products is to make choosing healthy habits easy (and delicious), attainable, and enjoyable.
