Gingerbug was founded on our family's small organic farm, where we were raising our five children off-the-grid, in an effort to teach them where their food comes from. We root cellared, hand pumped water, and fermented. One week, we had a low harvest of vegetables for a farmers market, so I brought along some mason jars of our ginger beer. It sold well, and while there is more to the story than this, we decided to pivot from agriculture into building a beverage brand. Within 6 months of launching, we were nation-wide across Canada, and received competing offers on CBC Dragon's Den (Canada's version of "Shark Tank"), which catapulted our brand on a national stage. We would like to launch our product to the US at Expo West this year, and we are very excited!
