Tea with Tae was founded in April 2020, right after COVID began. Tae wanted to give a loved one a special tea gift but could not find the exact right one, so she created a "Tea Bento Box," inspired by the Japanese "bento" style lunch boxes. From there, Tea with Tae was launched out of a shared commissary kitchen, where Tae blended and packed teas in the evening to put inside the version 1.0 of the Tea Bento Box.
