The Chai Box

The Chai Box is a small batch Chai company bringing the traditional craft of chai making to the mainstream. We offer Chai Concentrate, Loose-Leaf Chai Blends, and Chai Gifts. Monica, the founder, grew up in an Indian household where Chai represented family time. Growing up in an Indian household, for Monica, Chai meant spending time with family. Her mom taught her how to make her first cup of Chai at the age of five, so she wanted to do the same and instill the love of Chai in her three boys. Every Friday after school, she would have Chai time. She would bring out my spice box (what the boys coined "The Chai Box") and teach them how to prepare the perfect cup of chai. She started gifting The Chai Box to everyone she knew and after receiving an overwhelmingly positive response, in 2016, a Chai business idea was born. The Chai Box literally grew out of Monica's kitchen and into one of Oprah's Favorite Things in 2021! Our goal is to implement an ethical business process from start to finish. We source our spices from small-scale farmers in Kerala, India, who practice sustainable farming. These farmers, particularly women, play a significant role in their community's development. We also prioritize sustainability by composting leftover mulch from chai production and by using minimal and biodegradable packaging. The Chai Box was founded on education, teaching people about traditional Chai and its associated benefits. We aim to provide an authentic and high-quality Chai experience rooted in wellness. In the US, it's challenging to find a true cup of Chai, often lacking flavor and made with low-quality spices. We are here to change that by offering a Chai that reflects our culture and heritage.
