Our founder, Kelly Sandoval Brown, has been a lifelong lover of brine-y foods, even earning the nickname 'Pickel' at 5 years old. After managing marketing and communications at fast-paced start-ups, she faced several rounds of brutal layoffs. Deciding her stable career was not, in fact, so stable, she set out to create something she could truly own. That's where Brine Time came about. In 2023, she took her love of pickled things and globally inspired flavors, mixed in her start-up experience 'wearing many hats' and topped it off with an intrinsic desire to put good things into the world. The result was a fermented foods company with mouthwatering, probiotic products — boasting a host of nutritional benefits — and unlike anything currently found in stores. Brine Time is truly a family business. Kelly developed most of the recipes while pregnant and caring for a toddler.
