Hawai'i 'Ulu Cooperative

Formed in 2016 with 9 small, diversified growers on Hawaiʻi Island, HUC has grown to over 170 member-farms on four islands (Hawaiʻi Island, Maui, Oʻahu and Kauaʻi) and is now the foremost breadfruit farmer organization in Hawaiʻi. Our first year of production, we only harvested 15,000 pounds of breadfruit as a collective. This year, we're at over 197,000 pounds of breadfruit and counting. With strategic investment and strong partnership building, we work to uncover how 'ulu and our other Hawaii-grown staple crops can play a major role in transforming our food systems. We're proud to reestablish access to these once abundant resources and take part in giving people something so delicious, exciting, healthy, and sustainable. As we expand both our retail and our wholesale lines, we look forward to aligning with a market hungry for products that not just maintain our environment but nurtures it, ensuring a better future for all.
