I'm Dr. Alexis, Arizona physician since 2009, healthy food activist and kitchen alchemist. I've spent my career helping patients improve health and minimize disease, witnessing the full spectrum of unhealthy relationships developed with food; from over-indulgence to food restriction, shame, guilt and the vicious mental and physical burden it all creates. Humans are wired to like sweets and our bodies crave carbs for the quick energy. Let's face it, desserts are the most seductive foods imaginable and virtually impossible to restrict. I believe eating food should be a delicious act of love. That's why I was determined to simplify healthy baking and make it easy to bring decadent dessert back into your clean lifestyle. Creating Detox Desserts was kind-of a selfish endeavor because I'm a sweet-aholic;) I needed a way to indulge in sweets every day and improve my health in the process. It took nearly a decade of obsessive experimentation and countless failures to perfect this system. It all happened in my own kitchen, for my own family, but I knew I had created something truly unique that I couldn't keep to myself. Transitioning out of primary care into food science and product development was a bold move, built on passion and purpose. Ultimately, I believe the mission of Detox Desserts will change more lives and allow me to be of greater service. This simple system to detoxify dessert is my offering to you and your family. Since our products launched in August 2023, I'm both humbled and excited to report glowing reviews from professional chefs and bakers throughout Scottsdale, Phoenix, Orange County, CA and Las Vegas. We are still on the ground phase of building Detox Desserts and I'm looking forward to connecting with more buyers and brands who are in alignment with the values and mission of Detox Desserts.
