Harken Sweets
New York, New York
Harken Sweets is a natural products brand from New York, New York with 10 products on Beacon Discovery, mostly shelf stable candy and wellness & snack bars. 9 are Certified Non-GMO and 6 Certified Plant Based, and its range is distributed by UNFI, KeHE and Other.
Harken Sweets is the brainchild of Katie Lefkowitz, former inaugural COO of CAULIPOWER, who was inspired by reinventing frozen food with the power of superfoods. She has combined this learning with a family-famous date caramel recipe, and seeks to similarly disrupt the candy category with the power of a new superfood - the date fruit. Her background in life sciences has enabled her to develop never-before-seen formulations, and also drives her passion for making better-for-you products accessible and desirable to all: "When It comes to healthy eating, my philosophy has always been: Don't restrict, Replace. People won't swap their Snickers for a salad; they will swap it for a Harken bar. I firmly believe that the only way to support the better-for-you agenda of preventing diet-related chronic illness is to offer healthier alternatives to classic indulgences that don't sacrifice on taste."
