From Founder James Tsao: During a routine food factory inspection in 2018, I stumbled across two food labels of fruit vinegar, placed side-by-side. On the left, the ingredient list was absurdly long, filled with names of food additives that I didn't recognize. On the right, there were only 4-5 ingredients. Short & simple. I thought to myself, "since when did the foods we eat become so complicated?" As a 2nd generation owner of a food trading company, I wanted to showcase the many incredible agricultural food produce that Taiwan has to offer. I decided to do so through the lens of clean label, natural foods with minimal processing. Thus began my journey of developing and promoting natural food. I came up with the brand "Young Zen" by combining the names of my parents "Yung" and "Zhen." They are the living reminder of what it means to work hard and spread positivity.
