Jorge Saldana's passion for authentic Mexican cooking has always been at the center of his farm-to-table philosophy. When he migrated to California in the 1990's and opened his first restaurant, Cancun Sabor Mexicano in downtown Berkeley, his five senses and culinary sensibility brought him right back to his mothers's kitchen in Guadalajara, Mexico. As a pioneer of simple, natural and healthy Mexican food, he offered fresh, authentic and Home Made traditional favorites that brought loyal customers out in drovers. From that early success he later opened Tlaloc in San Francisco in 2001. In 2011, in response to his customers ongoing requests to buy his signature Fresh Salsas and Home Made Tortilla Chips at retail, Jorge Created Sabor Mexicano Foods. As Sabor Mexicano continues to grow, Jorge strives to reach new communities to offer the delight of Simple, Tasty, Mexican food. Ever true to his mission, he finds absolute joy in leading an authentic brand that provides delicious food or his consumers and a plant-first ethos for our environment.
