As a daughter of Korean immigrants and growing up in Queens, NY, founder Hannah Bae spent most of her days with her grandma while her parents worked. Her "halmi" created a sense of belonging through an abundance of the most nourishing and soothing foods and beverages. Memories of her family resonated with her throughout adulthood, especially when she realized there was a gap in the market for non-alcoholic beverages that were healthier than a soda, but more robust than a flavored seltzer that would compliment complex flavors of Asian dishes. So Hannah started to put her own spin on her family's recipes until Halmi was born.
