When Jihye Shin's daughter got a gash on her face, a local Korean mom gave her advice that changed everything: skip the regular bandage and go to the pharmacy for a hydrocolloid patch. It was a moisture patch you cut to size, and it stayed sealed through bath time and play. Six days later, the wound had healed so cleanly that Jihye could hardly tell where it had been. In Korea, this is simply how families care for cuts and scrapes. In a culture obsessed with skincare, wound care is skincare. But in the US, Jihye could not find anything of the same quality. American first aid aisles were still built around the traditional bandage, designed to cover a wound rather than care for the skin underneath. Together with cofounder Jimin Lee, she created SUPERBAND to close that gap. Our hydrocolloid patches are made in Korea and create a moist, protected environment where skin can heal the way it is meant to. They cushion the wound, shield it from everyday dirt and friction, and stay put through the playground and everything in between. We design for parents of active kids and for anyone managing sensitive or eczema prone skin. That focus is reflected in our credentials: the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance, the National Psoriasis Foundation Seal, HRIPT validation, and recognition as SHAPE Magazine's 2026 Best Bandage. We also believe first aid should feel good to reach for. We started with hydrocolloid, and we are growing into a complete skin first, first-aid line. Next up is our hypochlorous acid Rescue Spray, so that every step of healing starts with the skin.
