MEADOW

Stockholm

Meadow began with a simple but uncomfortable question: why do we keep reinventing packaging, when one of the world's most efficient systems already exists? Like many others, we were frustrated by the growing mountain of single‑use packaging—especially in everyday categories like personal care, beauty, and household products. Refill solutions promised progress, but too often they were complicated, inconvenient, or impossible to scale. It became clear that the problem wasn't a lack of good intentions—it was a lack of system thinking. Instead of introducing yet another material or format, we chose a different path. We looked at what people already understand and trust. Few packages are more familiar—or more successfully recycled—than the aluminum can. Billions are used every year, supported by global manufacturing, filling, and recycling infrastructure that already works remarkably well. That insight became our starting point. Founded in Stockholm in 2020, Meadow set out to upgrade the aluminum can for entirely new uses. By re‑engineering the opening and pairing it with a reusable dispenser, we created a pre‑filled packaging system that delivers a fresh product experience every time—while remaining fully recyclable and scalable across markets. Our journey hasn't been about disruption for its own sake. It's been about respecting existing systems and making them better. By working with established partners across the value chain, we've focused on turning circular packaging from a niche idea into a practical, mass‑market reality. At Meadow, we believe the waste crisis is not a disposal problem—it's a design problem. Our mission is to replace linear packaging at scale by upgrading what already works, proving that sustainability, great design, and commercial viability don't have to be trade‑offs. We're just getting started.
