Mizkan

The Mizkan brand roots reach back to 1804 in centrally located Handa, Japan. For nine generations, the Nakano family has remained in Handa where they established corporate headquarters. Throughout its rich 200+ year history, the family and its brand have stood for innovation. Originally, they focused on fermentation and made high-quality sake. As they continued to innovate, they began making different kinds of vinegars. As well as innovating product, the Mizkan name is known throughout Japan for being the first to begin branding, establishing innovative channels of distribution, and implementing other business practices eventually adopted by the rest of Japanese commerce. Today, the brand continues to honor its long-standing, authentic Japanese heritage with a focus on the succession of tradition. Current leadership adheres to the same principles the company was originally founded on: offer customers only the finest product and continuously challenge the status quo.
