RecPak was born in the deserts of Afghanistan, where every ounce matters and there's no room for compromise. Launched in 2022, our story began nearly a decade earlier when founder Deed Ziegler was leading Marines through extreme environments where traditional nutrition options failed the mission. Stopping to prepare a meal isn't an option, yet peak performance demands complete nutrition. In the outdoors, freeze dried meals and rations are often bulky and can't be consumed on the move, and energy bars are convenient but nutritionally incomplete. That critical gap became our purpose. Deed partnered with elite sports nutritionists to engineer what didn't exist: 700 calories of complete nutrition in a durable, lightweight pouch that fuels you without weighing you down. Just add water and drink on the move. RecPak represents more than innovation—it's our commitment to the outdoor community that forged us. As proud members of 1% For The Planet, Access Fund, and The Conservation Alliance, we dedicate resources to protecting the wild places that challenge and inspire us. We support outdoor veteran organizations and partner with the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) and American Alpine Club (AAC), recognizing that these institutions develop the skills and stewardship ethic essential to our sport. From Denali expeditions to search-and-rescue missions, RecPak has proven itself in the world's most demanding environments.
