KULA was born from a deeply personal journey. Growing up in Kenya, food was a cornerstone of our lives. Family meals were always a big deal, and the flavours... oh man, the flavours! So when I embraced a plant-based lifestyle, I really missed those amazing dishes. I tried finding vegan versions, but they just weren't the same. Frustrated, I started experimenting in the kitchen, trying to recreate those childhood tastes without meat or dairy. And you know what? I actually nailed it! It was so exciting. That's when the KULA seed was planted. I realized there were probably other people out there missing those flavours too. So in 2018, I took the plunge, quit my comfy corporate job, and started selling my creations at the farmers market. My newborn had to come along for the ride, but it was totally worth it. KULA is more than just food for me – it's about sharing my heritage, connecting with people, and building a community around delicious, plant-based eats.
