Impossible Foods
Redwood City, CA
Impossible Foods is a natural products brand from Redwood City, CA with 10 products on Beacon Discovery, mostly refrigerated plant based meat alternatives and frozen plant based meat alternatives. Its range is distributed by UNFI, KeHE and Other.
During a sabbatical, Stanford University Professor Dr. Patrick O. Brown decided to switch the course of his career to address the urgent problem of climate change. In particular, he wanted to make the global food system sustainable. In 2011, we started with a simple question: "What makes meat taste like meat?" Then we figured out how to make it with plants. We debuted our first product, Impossible Burger Made From Plants, in 2016. Since then, we've continued to blast ahead to preserve the planet we call home.
