Splendor Water

La Mana, Ecuador has long been revered as a sacred area to ancient civilizations due to its unique location: along the equator nestled in the Andes Rainforest. It was here, on his own land, where Dr. Guillermo Sotomayor first discovered the miraculous volcanic water today known as Splendor, when initially excavating in the area's rich subsoil. He soon realized the true treasure of his land was this water and set out to share it with the world. ​ The miraculous recovery of Sotomayor's ailing daughter, studies of the unique gold and mineral composition of Splendor and its various other properties, his discovery of mysterious ancient artifacts at the source, and many serendipitous transfers of ownership to "save" this water make up Splendor's incredibly unique history. Today, the brand has now become one of the top waters in Ecuador and has expanded internationally to truly continue Sotomayor's vision of bringing this treasure out to the world.​ After learning of Splendor's intriguing history through a group of doctors and family friends across communities in South America who had experienced and invested in Splendor's amazing benefits themselves, the Couch family vowed to collectively see through Sotomayor's initial vision with them. Father/daughter duo David and Sara Couch and the fast-growing Splendor team have since taken on their part of this mission as they bring this water to the U.S. and new international markets. While Splendor has now grown beyond Ecuador, giving back to its home country will always remain a critical goal. This has led to the development of key environmental partnerships across Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, where Splendor directly gives back 1% of their gross sales each year as a 1% for the Planet member. Splendor is a socially conscious, Smart Planet Certified company, with B-Corp Certification in progress and the addition of continuously more sustainable packaging options including 100% recycled PET and glass bottles. A consciously designed wellness center/spa and tribute to Splendor's story and roots is set to open in 2025 in La Mana, Ecuador, at the site of Splendor's unique source.
