Sunniemade was started by Sarah Spliethoff in 2022 with a simple idea: sustainability shouldn't feel like a sacrifice. After learning that 95% of plastic isn't recycled and liquid personal care is 90% water, she set out to inspire others to make a simple swap: body and hair care that isn't watered down. She got her start by making handmade bar soap in her kitchen and has since expanded to offer a range of bar soap, hair care bars, and lip balm that make sustainable self-care easy and indulgent. Sunniemade is independently owned and grassroots grown, built from the ground up with small steps, big ideas, and lots of community support. Sunniemade's hair care bars, including Mighty Mango, Super Bloom, and Chia Glow are formulated with functional ingredients like mango butter, rosehip oil, and chia seed oil to achieve unique hair goals. Its delightful bar soap scents – including Main Squeeze, Very Rosemary, and Purple Rain – are made with moisturizing plant-based oils, real essential oils, and detoxifying clays. All Sunniemade products are free from artificial fragrances and dyes, parabens, phthalates, animal cruelty, animal products, and plastic packaging. Every hair care bar replaces up to 3 plastic bottles, while each bar of soap spares 1 plastic bottle from our waste systems and waterways.
