While studying abroad in Italy, our founder, Carly, came down with a nasty bout of tonsillitis and wandered into an Italian drugstore in search of a solution. The pharmacist recommended a bee-derived ingredient called propolis; within a few days, Carly's symptoms began to clear up. It was the first medicine that made her feel like she was in control of her health. Upon returning to Canada, Carly found propolis was impossible to find—so she became a beekeeper and started sourcing her own. A few years later, Carly committed full-time to making propolis accessible to everyone.
