In the heart of America's Midwest in 1988, a group of visionary family farmers stood at a crossroads. Led by George Siemon, these farmers united under a singular vision: to farm sustainably, in harmony with nature, and to provide their communities with healthy, organic food. This collective dream gave birth to Organic Valley, a farmer-owned cooperative that became a beacon of hope and innovation in agriculture. Organic Valley was founded on the principle that taking care of the land and animals leads to the best quality food. From the very beginning, the cooperative set stringent organic standards, which not only preserved the health of the environment but also ensured the wellbeing of consumers. Starting with a small group of dedicated farmers, Organic Valley began by selling organic vegetables, quickly expanding to dairy as the demand for clean, ethical products grew. Consumers could taste the difference in Organic Valley's products, and farmers across the country were inspired to join the movement.
