Organic India

Our founder shared the reasoning behind the name "Organic India". "Every time someone even says 'Organic India,' they're bringing more energy towards that possibility, that future manifestation of the entire country of India being organic." Farming is Life in India. 40% of the workforce is engaged in farming as primary source of income. More than a label, Organic is the soul of our brand. The very need for organic in the 90s was the catalyst for Organic India to be created in the first place. Western, Chemical Agriculture was extremely invasive and unsustainable, ultimately destroying farm after farm, and thousands of farmer's lives were ruined. Organic India was born in 1997. Drawing on farmer wisdom and expertise, with the help of local organic agriculture specialists and Ayurvedic doctors, the founders worked closely together to resuscitate the land, first growing Tulsi (Holy Basil), and dozens of different beneficial herbs thereafter. Every product a direct extension of the beautiful work taking place on each farm, and every purchase allowing the customer to directly support the farmers, while taking control of their own wellness. Today, we partner directly with 2,500 farmers across 121 villages on more than 10,000 acres of certified organic land. In 2018, we opened India's first LEED Platinum Food Manufacturing Facility, where over 100 healthy products are exported to more than 40 countries. The movement spread to even the most barren, drought-prone, remote and small farms, transforming them back to flourishing ecosystems using organic, traditional and regenerative practices.
