I am an accidental entrepreneur. I worked in federal law enforcement for 27 years, being at five different duty stations and relocating back home to Chicago to spend the last five years of my mom's life with her. My mom was the strongest woman I have ever known, she bore and raised six bad a** children on the southside of Chicago along with my dad. We lived all over the southside, moving when we could not pay the rent, or my dad was again out of work. We even lived in an abandoned building on 51st. We had to bathe and brush our teeth at school during those times and I struggled with confidence and belief in God. I thought if there was a God how could he allow people to live like we did. We would come home from school and our possessions would be on the sidewalk due to the rent not being paid. I went to college so that when I had children, they would never experience what I had to growing up. I have achieved a lot of firsts for my family, I am the first of the six of us to get a four-year college degree. The first to complete a 27-year career in federal law enforcement, the first to retire from that career and the very first to create a business based on a personal need (for delicious, nutritious and healthy, gluten-free snacks) and the first to see and believe that business can succeed. I am working to dispel limiting beliefs, raise my family from poverty, abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, and generational curses. I never knew my maternal grandmother since she passed away when I was a toddler, my mother passed away at the age of 60, my dad passed at 42, and in 2018, I lost my middle sister Venita to a heart attack, she was 51. I feel called and equipped to change the trajectory of our family, to begin to raise up entrepreneurs, build confidence and to create generational wealth for our future. I want to see my grandchildren's children.
