Lively Up Your Breath

Micheal McNeeley and Gail Chester established Lively Up Your Breath in 2009 because most breath fresheners on the market contained pure sugar and chemical ingredients, while others marketed as healthier options didn't taste great or provide long-lasting freshness. The inspiration for Lively Up Your Breath came from a discontinued product called "One Drop," which was a chlorophyll-based breath freshener with menthol. It not only freshened breath but also enhanced breathing capacity. Motivated by this, the founders started experimenting in their home kitchens to create a breath freshener that would taste great, be powerful and effective. They developed a vegan gluten-free base formula, which formed the foundation of their product line. The founders enlisted the help of staff at their local Whole Foods Markets as taste testers, and their enthusiasm provided encouragement. They submitted their prototype to Whole Foods Market Southern Pacific Region through the "Local" program and were thrilled when it got approved. Lively Up's journey really started at Expo West 2010 where they debuted with just three customers: Whole Foods Market Porter Ranch, Whole Foods Market in Thousand Oaks, and the iconic health food store called "Full of Life" in Burbank. At the Show, they had a memorable experience when the buyer for the Whole Foods Market Southern Pacific Region visited their booth and took out the prototype bottle from her purse! The Founders lacked a retail background but had a passion for their products. Thirteen years and 2 new SKU's later, they are extremely proud to still be producing unique breath fresheners with a loyal customer following.
